Hi everyone,

Hi,

A check on my installation shows that plugin org.eclipse.gmf.runtime.draw2d.ui.renderer.awt version 1.8.0.201805221147 is installed.

(Not the one that should be provided by Rc3)

Using “Help > Install Software” shows that 2 versions of Graphical Modeling Framework (GMF) Runtime are available

1.12.0.201805221147 and 1.12.0.201806010809

I expected to see only one version in [2].

Did I missed something ? What can be the reason for not getting the latest version of GMF when installing Papyrus ?

Having multiple versions visible is expected as the SimRel repo is a composite of the last 3 milestones.

As for why it chose the incorrect one, it might be related to Batik 1.9 still being available in the Orbit repo used for RC3, before the respin. An interpretation would be that p2 had a choice between a newer Batik and an older GMF, or a newer GMF with an older Batik, and chose one more or less "randomly".

Forcing installation of  1.12.0.201806010809 fix the issue.

The final repo published at http://download.eclipse.org/releases/photon is normally not a composite, but only contains the latest RC, with the correct version.

BTW, what's the rationale for making the SimRel repo an aggregate of the last 3 milestones? It means that what we are all testing until the very end does not *really* match what will be actually released.
