Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Make sure that you sign with Java 8 if you are building and packing with Java 8

The cbi-jarsigner-plugin signs with Java 8 for some time now (before Mars.0) and tycho-pack200a-plugin (condition/repack) and tycho-pack-200b-plugin (pack) which should be called around the cbi-jarsigner-plugin use whatever JDK is used to run your tycho build. So yes, everything shoud be ok if you use tycho / CBI.

Cheers,
Mikael

Thanks Kosta for the heads up,

Just to be clear, I assume Tycho / CBI are doing the right thing so no changes needed in that case?

Thanks,
Martin

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] Make sure that you sign with Java 8 if you are building and packing with Java 8

A public service notice since many projects are moving to Java 8 for Neon… If you build and condition/pack with Java 8, it’s important that you sign using Java 8, otherwise you could run into some really bizarre issues with your .pack.gz files failing verification after unpacking. By default, the sign command uses Java 6. Please refer to the following wiki for instructions on how to sign with Java 8.

Thanks,
