As Doug says, we make no promises on which part will actually get done, although we've officially announced the removal of CDT's old deprecated debugging framework (CDI).

It is important though to let everyone know the CDT is going to have a major release in Neon. Not sure how much API is going to change, maybe none if it, but we've opened the door to clean up a few things.
I'm not sure if Doug's email below is enough, so, to be safe, CDT will be part of Neon with a 9.0 release with offset +1.
