Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Where's WindowBuilder?

Thank you, Mark!

I submitted two needed CQs, the IP log, and the release review docs.

I have made good progress.  I should have a build tomorrow.  It is getting too late for me to work.  I only have five more projects to get green and that should not take long.

Sounds like too late for RC3 then, but we build almost continuously, so we can get an early look some time on Friday or Monday.

Glad you are "back".
And apologies that no "nested packed jars" caught you by surprise.

Thanks again,

EMail sent to cross list

But, can't help but point out that tonight is the "end" of RC3. I won't complain if you are not in RC3, but back in RC4, but if you think done "early tomorrow",
then perhaps we should "respin" to pick up your contribution in RC3?

And, in any case, would be best if you kept community informed (of your plans) on cross-project list.

Let me know if I can help in any way,

Thanks,

I was on vacation last week.    I am going to work on this and hope to have it ready tomorrow

Mark and Eric,

I am assuming, hoping!, you two know that WindowBuilder was not in "RC1". It is still disabled in windowbuilder.b3aggrcon, due to the bad "pack.gz" files.

I hope you all are still planning to be in Mars release?

Any progress on getting a build going? Or correcting your current repo?

Thanks,

Here's the the first step:
https://hudson.eclipse.org/

Besides the general information links there at the top of the page, there is one for "Committer Tools",

https://dev.eclipse.org/site_login/myaccount.php
Which, once you sign on, will show you a list of projects you are on, and which "HIPP Instances" you have per project ...
you will have none, but next to that is a button that says "Request One", which I think just takes you to the
right place in bugzilla to enter the relevant information. And, if that doesn't work, just open a bug on "EclipseFoundation",
"Community", "Hudson" (or, something like that) ... and/or send email to
webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx.

If you need help after that, let me know.

As far as your current contribution ... if you think it will be a while before you have a working build? ...
then I could give a tip on how to make your current repo "acceptable" to b3 aggregator (and end users) ...
and that is just to delete those few 'pack.gz' files that were causing the problem, but then you need to
run the p2 Ant task called "process.artifacts" (with pack=false) against that repo where you removed them,
so it recomputes the meta data files. So, not exactly easy .. but, not sure where you are at with
getting your build going, so thought I'd just throw that out there as a "Plan B".  (that works, btw, only for
"simple repositories" which is what you should be using for your b3aggrcon file anyway.)

Hope some of that helps,

I talked with Eric and we are going to move the the HIPP instance.  Can you point me to the documents on how to do this?

Ok, thanks for letting me know.
As always, let me know if I can help ... or ... ask on cross-projects list, since if I can not, perhaps someone else could?
Perhaps a good time to consider moving your builds to a HIPP Instance on build machines at Eclipse.org?
(I know, probably sounds like more work, and probably would be, at first, ... but, at least some support staff there to help.)

Best of luck,

I'm having issues building the code.  I lost my build server and am building in another one.  It is going slow.

I'm going to disable 'windowbuilder' for now ... see if we can get through some builds. Feel free to re-enable anytime you thing it's ready.

And, let me know if you need help ... I assume you know about eclipse.inf and
https://wiki.eclipse.org/JarProcessor_Options

That is, often easiest to add the eclipse.inf to META-INF directory, with

jarprocessor.exclude.children=true

jarprocessor.exclude.pack=true

So that way, at least your main bundle get's signed ... though, maybe that's what you are trying? I have not looked at your code, nor do I know how you build.
But, if I can maybe help, feel free to ask.

Thanks,
