Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Mars M7 Simultaneous Release repository is now visible

Hi David, all -

Thanks for the notice, I’ve tested the new installer, it’s great stuff !

Big thanks & Kudos to the Oomph team and everyone else who contributed to this !

Just to make sure others don’t run into the same pitfalls that I did –

the installer is actually launched by starting “oomph”, it needs Java 7 and is a bit unfriendly when it gets only 6  J

I’ve filed 2 bugs to track improving this for the wider community to use more intuitively:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=466864

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=466865

Thanks,

Martin

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] Mars M7 Simultaneous Release repository is now visible

The M7 repository is now ready, at the built-in URL of
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars

(And includes M6 and M5 too, in that composite).

Most of the EPP packages are available, or will be soon, at
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index-developer-installer.php

That is a new URL, to encourage people to try "the Installer" -- and please do give it a try -- but if you want the previous, traditional page, for now you can still use
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index-developer-default.php

Note: a few packages are still waiting for a +1 from the package maintainers.

NOTE: The 'Eclipse IDE for Java and DSL Developers' package, will not be available until Monday (due to a missing piece of it) and in fact,
if M6 users of that package updated now (before Monday) they would risk losing some function ... but if that does happen, they can revert, if they would like,
and either way, they will get the update on Monday, once the package work is re-done (and the EPP repo updated).

Good luck and test well ... not much time left to fix any issues found!
