Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] problems updating from Helios SR1 to SR2

Hi Markus,

Maybe a mirroring problem? Directly accessing this:

http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/201102250900/artifacts.jar

silently redirects to www.gtlib.gatech.edu where it returns a 404 not found for me:

http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/eclipse/releases/helios/201102250900/artifacts.jar

I remember some discussion in the past where Denis mentioned that some traffic is redirected off eclipse.org … this seems to be related.

Thanks,

Martin

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] problems updating from Helios SR1 to SR2

Hi all,

one of my last tests before a release is always the same: I am trying to update from one version to another. Usually that did work without any problems in the past and that is why I did it that late in the process.

Unfortunately I had some problems with the EPP packages, but I can reproduce it with the Classic/SDK - I wasn't able to update this one either.

p2 is complaining that it cannot find some artifacts:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile="" phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=""> No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.ant.core,3.2.201.v20110203_r362
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.ant.core.source,3.2.201.v20110203_r362
No repository found containing: osgi.bundle,org.eclipse.ant.launching,1.0.1.v20101020_r362
...

(But I checked that they are available!)

In order to reproduce this you need to add the following not yet visible repositories locations:

Platform Linux 64 bit, Eclipse Classic SDK Helios SR1 (3.6.1)

Did I miss something or is this a real error that will hit others (and not only me)? Are the above repository locations correct?

Thanks,
Markus
