Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Problems with Hudson CVS trigger

Title: RE: Problems with Nightly Builds
Hi

The problems may be selective.

Hudson seems to only see CVS changes by some users. For instance

https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/buckminster-mdt-ocl-core-3.1-nightly/changes

shows recent changes by "auhl" but does not show changes by "ewillink".

This may be related to a different Hudson privilege problem whereby "ewillink" could "Build Now" on an old "cbi... " job but not on a new "buckminster..." job. This was fixed by recreating "ewillink": https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=332865.

Hi there,

Does anybody else see problems with their Hudson CVS trigger?

A HEAD checkin happened for our project on Friday Feb 4, but our Hudson N-build didn’t trigger until today Feb 7, details below.

Our CVS polling config should poll every 6 hours:

10 3,9,15,21 * * *

This used to work as expected.

Thanks,

Martin

Martin, our job configuration in Hudson seems to be okay.
Might be some hudson issue (unfortunately it is not as stable as I wish it was).

Hi Anna,

It looks like yesterday's Legacy N-build failed (see forwarded message below).

I wanted to verify this in Hudson, since Hudson provides much better logging and web access to error reports.

But our Hudson N-builds have not been triggered since Feb 1:
https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/cbi-tm-3.2-nightly/

Looking at the tm-cvs-commit mailing list, Dave M committed DataStore.java on Friday 4-Feb:
http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/tm-cvs-commit/msg00140.html

There seems to be a problem with the CVS trigger, can you investigate please?

As of today, the main value of our CBI / Hudson jobs is that they trigger automatically and send E-Mail with good reports automatically. Not triggering on CVS makes this value void.

Thanks,
Martin
