Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Simultaneous Release Tracker is ready for use

To credit to those responsible for this new tool ... if you like it, then the person responsible is Gabe O'Brien, from the Eclipse Foundation. He took the barest outline of what was needed and turned it into a complete, easy to use application that should ease our release for this and future years. If you do not like it, then it is all my fault :)

But, I'm sure you will all like it. I think Gabe did a great job, and deserves our thanks for this improvement to our infrastructure.

Thanks Gabe!

There is now a "Simultaneous Release Tracker" at the Eclipse Foundation Portal [1].

This takes the place of the bugzilla tracking system we had last year. Its purpose is to provide an easy way to document status, progress, and data towards the Simultaneous Release Requirements. [2]

It has been through several levels of reviews, but I am sure there might still be quirks that are not clear, or things that don't work right. Feel free to ask questions, here on cross-project list, and/or see the (currently small) Simultaneous Release Tracker FAQ [2].

Currently, anyone who is a committer on a Project can edit it, though it is expected Project Leads and PMCs will coordinate who should edit what, for their Project.

In the weeks/months ahead, we will work on several type of summary reports and we'll let you know when those are ready for viewing.

Thanks,
