RE: [cross-project-issues-dev] EclipseCon stick

The very same is true for much of Galileo. Through the EclipseCon talks,
I have the chance to get in touch with technology that I otherwise don't
see. Having a copy of the Galileo Repository at hand allows me to
install / try out the stuff right away (we've seen in the past that
Internet access for software installs doesn't scale).
 
If there is more space on the stick, then I'm all in favor of adding
additional apps / p2 repositories, although I assume that this may pose
legal problems -- we'll likely need at least to seek the app
maintainer's approval before we can reditstribute any stuff that doesn't
come right from Eclipse.org.
 
There was an effort last year to use the p2 installer to materialize an
Eclipse Install out of the p2 Repository, rather than putting the 3
Platforms on the stick (which are in fact just duplicates of the same
bundles again and again). Could we pick up this idea this year? Is the
p2 installer mature enough for making this happen?
 
Is it decided already that no slides are going to go on the stick this
year?

	When I read this, I also thought...why a stick?
	
	I think if someone cares about the M5 downloads, they'll just
get them like they always do.
	How about some dazzling RCP apps or other stuff that will prompt
people to look at the things they might not make time to visit/download?
	
	Like the winners of previous "best app" awards, or other open
source eclipse apps that will make people think outside their own box?
	I'm sure there are tons of cool apps out there that I won't see
unless someone says, "look at these."

	While chatting with Bjorn it appears that this year again
EclipseCon attendees will receive a USB stick (don't know the size).
However, given that this year slides will be made available on the web
site, this raises two questions:
	a) do we need a stick? (Not sure this is still negotiable)
	b) what to put on the stick?
	
	I propose that we put 3 platform downloads (win32, linux, mac)
and a snapshot of the Galileo M5 p2 repository, since the stick content
has to be made available by Feb 17th and the Galileo M5 GA date is Feb
16th. 
	So a few questions, 
	- would such a content be helpful to you, or will it be outdated
by the time of the conference? 
	- what do you think about this content?
