RE: [cross-project-issues-dev] Getting started page

My preference still would be to have Web Applications separate ... I really do think that most of those who develop web applications think of Java a secondary ... (important, yes) ... but they may actually spend more time on their HTML, _javascript_, database queries, etc., than the do on Java, per se. Of course, I am biased .... as all we are ... but that that's my perception.

And, IMHO, I think as long as there are no more than seven categories on that landing page (maybe 5?) you'll still be achieving good "usability".

I'd go for "Java/Web Applications" instead - in part because it's
technically more correct, but mostly because I think it's easier to
parse than the double vowel.

The demo rocks - very cool!

I actually had one of those at first. I decided to instead try and roll
the
JEE tools and the Java tools together (along with the GUI building,
testing,
and reporting tools). Maybe that was a mistake. Would it be enough to
include Java EE in the title? i.e., something like "I build Java/Java EE
applications".

Excluding the modeling projects from the "Eclipse for Java Developers"
page
was the harder decision for me. I figured that your average Java
developer
wouldn't know what to do with those features. Was that a bad decision?

Did you get a chance to look at the "Installing and Using the Eclipse
Web
Tools" demo?
