RE: [cross-project-issues-dev] Notes and screenshots of install problems

I have (since my previous note) also seen this problem .... and have opened bug 131031 to document my findings. (In brief, some mirrored "jar files" contain HTML error information, apparently, but the same "jar file" at another site is fine).  Guess the rumors that mirrors are not always reliable are true!
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=131031

Oh, and, speaking of rumors, to answer someone else's question ... I have heard our Eclipse infrastructure staff is down to one person temporarily (from normal two)  ... so, that may explain some of the slower than their normally stellar response time at monitoring and fixing problems.

I got some mysterious error about a corrupted jar file from GMF. Unfortunately when the error occur in the update code, the looked-up file is in a temp folder in with generated name so I can't really say more. Did anybody see that?

Just to add to the mayhem, I think I’m seeing two separate problems.

1.
The random failures when using eclipse.org. The infamous 403’s.
2.
A consistent failure using the OSU mirror. An infamous 404 on org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.emitter.html_2.1.0…..

It looks like OSU missed a file. I’ll try a touch on it and see if it kicks a resync there.

I'm being invisibly rerouted to an IBM mirror. Tonight I will try from home and from a Mac box to make it more fun :-)

Pascal,
Are you (invisibly) using some internal IBM mirror to update from, perhaps?  What if you went to a Starbucks with a laptop and tried it from outside the firewall?  Just a theory...

Since yesterday I have successfully installed all the projects from callisto several times.

Today I encountered a few errors (mostly time and missing files) but nothing too weird.

It is unforntunate that you guys have the errors and I don't as I'm looking at fixing some those bugs...
