I would like to request that the following defect be considered for PMC
approval for COSMOS 1.0 i9

219991 Error messages are not shown to the end users

1. Explain why you believe this is a stop-ship defect. How does the defect
manifest itself, and how will users of COSMOS/ consuming products be
affected if the defect is not fixed?
- In the COSMOS UI the error messages are not shown to the end user.  As a
result the end user assumes everything is okay if an exception occurs on
the back end.  Having this fix will improve problem resolutions as well.
It will isolate where problems occur within the system.  This is another
reason why I think this bug should be in the candidate driver.

2. Is there a work-around? If so, why do you believe the work-around is
insufficient?
- No.

3. Is this a regression or API breakage? Explain.
- This is a regresssion.  The error meessages where shown prior to the i9
candidate builds.  This problem was introduced by a prior bug fix.

4. Does this require new API?
- No.

5. Is there a test case attached to the bugzilla record?
- No.

6. What is the risk associated with this fix?
- Low. This touches one class.  This is a 3 line change.

7. Is this fix related to any standards that COSMOS adheres to? If so, who
has validated that the fix continues to adhere
No.

When an error occurs on the back end server the message is not shown to the
user.  The user does not know what happened and assumes everything is okay.

The error message string is not terminated properly.

Thanks,

Sheldon
