RE: [cosmos-dev] Vote Requested: Revised Schedule for COSMOS 1.0

I want to make sure that I and the rest of the team are clear on the goal of the revisions being proposed.  I would like to discuss this on the Community Call today to get closure.

So what is the final schedule?  Is it as detailed on the wiki?  Or are there more updates planned?

Tania,

The thinking is that we want to close i8 on 28-Dec.  We realize given the holidays that the content will likely be much less that we might normally target.

We'll need to coordinate with Balan to ensure we can get the candidate builds out.  We'll also need to figure out test coverage of i8 given vacation schedules.

Tania,

We talked about this on the DC call today… Can we close off i8 BEFORE the (calendar) year ends?  Please follow up with Mark if you need further details, as there are vacation considerations here.

Thanks,

Jimmy Mohsin

[cosmos-dev] Proposal: Revised Schedule for COSMOS 1.0

Team,

I have posted a proposal for a revised Milestone plan for COSMOS 1.0 on the wiki, just below the current plan:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Cosmos_Release_Plan#Proposed_Revisions_i7-i12_.289.2F28.2F2007.29_-_Release_Milestones.

The key changes to note in this proposal are:

- The start of i7 moves to Oct. 3

- Milestone 2 moves to Jan. 25 (the end of i8)

- Milestone 3 moves to Apr. 25 (the end of i10)

An alternative would be to:

- Set Milestone 2 for Nov. 28 (make the test pass for i7 2 weeks)

- Set Milestone 3 for March 7, just before EclipseCon (shorten the development cycle for i9 to 4 weeks, make the test pass 2 weeks)

Please post your comments by end of day Monday.  I will incorporate feedback into the schedule, and post the revised schedule for a vote on Tuesday morning.
