RE: [cosmos-dev] Simple e2e, 193420

No – it’s just a script to launch DC standalone – sort of like we do for our Muse OSGi examples. It’s mostly just to help John along.

Joel,

Hit send too soon on the last post...
For the ant thingy...
Does this affect any other part of the release engineering process?
I'm thinking we should open a bug against the release this component and check in the changes against this.   If the changes are isolated, and don't affect the build, then yes, check in the manifest changes under 193420 and attach the ant script.

Re: Checking in code....

We will need to attach the code to the bugzilla enhancement request.  Use the patch mechanism I described in the earlier post.

If you could also update the wiki page, or even add comment on what the example does, this would be helpful.

Also, please make sure you've got the right package names and copyrights in the code and any other documents.

That sounds good me, however my opinion carries little weight I think.

Actually, I’ve just gotten the ant thingy working. It appears that something’s changed in how the system bundle’s classes are resolved between 3.2 and 3.3, so I’ve had to make some manifest changes to some of our bundles as well. Should I check these changes in against 193420 and attach the ant script to the bug?

My attempts to get this to work have failed, Joel (I think) mentioned he had some kind of ANT thingy (yes that’s a very technical term) that he would make

Available through CVS that would point people in that direction.

Joel, forgive me if it wasn’t you.

[cosmos-dev] Simple e2e, 193420

Martin,

I was going over some of the data collection enhancement requests and found this entry:

193420: Create simple stand alone example of the data collection framework

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=193420

We briefly talked about this on one of the recent data collection calls.  I was wondering if you've thought about this more.

I've added a page for the design of it here:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/COSMOS_Design_193420
I was hoping you could add some details to the wiki, then attach some code that we could check in.

Thanks,

-mw
