Minutes
News and Noteworthy
Glenn
- Will
be upgrading to Jackrabbit 1.3 per suggestion from EMO
- Started
re-submitting IP requests
Jim
- Orbit
now has Apache Derby 10.1.2.1. However it is labeled 10.1.2.2.
- Currently
located in the “integration” area. Should be available
in “stable” area in a couple of weeks.
Community Building
Dennis
- Eclipse
Spaces project had its creation review last week. Project is
expected to be approved and provisioned this week.
- Held
a conference call re: shared common “collaboration perspective”.
See notes posted to dev mailing list.
Marcin
- Gdansk is
soliciting jobs for summer internship positions. It may be possible
to have intern(s) work on Corona
over the summer.
Release Engineering
Dennis:
- M10
build was completed last Friday.
- Eclipse
3.3M7 is due out this week. Once released, we need to update our
development and build environments
Marcin
- Will
begin moving build process from internal server to build.eclipse.org
- Unit
tests for client and server environments are being performed during build
process
Glenn
- EMF
is breaking its project into multiple plug-ins. We need to ensure
that we defined proper plug-in dependencies.
Corona Frameworks
Server-Side
Dennis
- Joel
has committed initial WSDM management support
- Initial
how-to documentation posted on wiki
- o.e.corona.logger.log4j
has been enabled for WSDM
Jim
- Has
enabled o.e.corona.derby for wsdm
- Having
some issue using Max from his IDE
Container
Glenn
- Continue
working on container model refactoring. Adopting the updates from
EMF 2.3
- Have
broken many things
- Expect
to begin committing some code this afternoon. Will need help from others
to finish refactoring.
Marcin
- Committers
in Gdansk
to participate in refactoring exemplary implementation (ProjectContainer)
Dennis
- It
is probably best to adopt these container model changes now. This
will improve its ability to support collaboration solutions. If we
do not adopt these improvements now, we will adopt them later (post 1.0)
and need to provide an migration path (more work!).
Exemplary
Implementation (ProjectContainer)
Marcin
Testing
Marcin
- Unit
test can be run in IDE. This will help to verify container model
refactoring
- Will
post example to dev mailing list
Pawel
- Corona server
port is different in the test environment
Paul
- We
should set aside some time each week when the entire team performs some
tests to simulate a work load similar to what would occur when used by a
team
Out-of-Box
Paul
- Continue
to experiment with Corona
client/server and document experiences on wiki
- Using
internal Corona
server. However, sometimes this is not available due to development
team testing
Release Candidates
Dennis
- We
are now entering RC phases. RC builds are scheduled for every 2 weeks
from now until Europa release
- Our
focus is testing, bug fixes, and documentation.
- Only
high priority enhancements will be committed (w/ pre-approval)
