[corona-dev] User Interface Issues

We had a user interface review of the Corona Client User interface here are the items that were noticed and discussed.  Special Thanks to Neil Faigenbaum for providing his expertise in this area.

 

  • Change order in Windows | Show View | Others | Corona   in Show View List  

1.       Corona Container Explorer

2.       Project Container View (rename to Corona Container View)

3.       Corona Event list

 

  • Change Name of  Project Container View to  Corona Container View
  • Remove Chat Dialog Login (only pop up if login fails)
  • Changes to Corona Explorer View
    • change context menu
      • Modify
        • Add new repository x
        • Delete project container x
        • Synchronize with server x
        • Edit container with Data Graph editor x
        • Add new empty Project Container x
      • Import all x
      • Show project container view x
      • Open project container x
      • Close project container x
      • Show eventList view x
      • Show overview view x
      • Go Home – replace with “Up to Workspace” Arrow like in Package Explorer “Up to Container” Arrow
      • Go Back – replace with back arrow like in Package Explorer
      • Go Into x
    • to new menus
      • When on  Container show menus
        • New…
        • Open
        • Edit…
        • Save to Server
        • Import…
        • Delete

        • Show View    ß shows overview page

Note:

I we display the System container we should only allow new Containers added as children to a particular System Container.  That way we can support having multiple System Containers.

 

 

  • Project Overview Page
    •  Team Section
      • add number of active Team Members
    • Repository Section
      • put repositories in a scrollable list
  • Review Event List
    • Project column is always empty
    • Context Menu label “Event details” should be “Event Details…”
  • Failed to update CC messagebox
    • change to “Failed to update Container”
    • absolutely no useful information about what caused the error or what to do about it.
  • View Pages
    • remove X which closes the pages
  • “New project container”  Dialog to “New Container”
    • change text to Create a New Container
    • add checkbox indicating “Autosave to Corona Server”
    • sample uri “http://myserver/corona/container#MyContainer
    • sample name “MyContainer
  • Team Member View
    • change “User id” to “User ID”
    • remove “Login”  move Login value to “User ID” value
    • Context Menu
      • add a menu item for “Edit Team Member
      • change “Add Team Member” to “New Team Member”
      • change “Remove Team Member” to “Delete Team Member”

 

 

  • We had some discussion regarding the way Eclipse shows Sub-Tabs
    • Jim suggest moving to top
    • The Eclipse User Guideline from Dave MR show menus on the side
    • we could try moving to top or side and decide if it is better or not.

 

 

  • We still need to finish the discussion regarding how Client synchronize with Corona Server is handled
