  • Eclipse virtual server (corona.eclipse.org) is available.  Waiting for Compuware’s IS to approve access via firewall

  • Development Environment
    • IP Approval
      • Requests pending for Apache Log4j, Derby
      • Waiting for Axis2 to graduate from RC before submitting request
      • Waiting for ActiveMQ to graduate from incubator before submitting request
  • Community Building
    • Eclipse Collaboration Projects
      • Initial kickoff meeting confirmed the need to have the Eclipse projects involved different aspects of collaboration to work together.
      • Efforts to move forward with Corona / ECF / ALF / Mylar
    • EclipseCON Europe - Symposium
      • Symposium was attended by Paul Czarnik, Paul Styles and Marcin Okraszewski
    • Compuware Marketing / Product Management to create Flash version of 1.0.0M4 demo.
    • Eclipse birthday party – how can we (Compuware) participate.
    • Website / wiki
      • Need to update website to have better positioning statement.
      • Need to post page(s) letting them know how they can contribute.
  • Release Engineering
    • Status: Build stopped working after new plugins were added.
    • Build process for plugins requiring 3rd party libraries – see wiki
    • CVS Tag is needed.  Build process will add “build tag” to HEAD to identity what was built.
  • Corona 1.0.0M5
    • One more weeks before code freeze (thaw). 
    • Web Service Enablement
      • Glenn is merging the web service enablement for Context Container Manager
        • Need help with test cases
    • Exception handling
      • Design documentation is needed to define best practices on what to throw and how to catch.
      • Consideration for how exceptions will be thrown across web services faults.
      • Consideration for transient exceptions, how to handle when a background service is not available or goes away.
  • Corona 1.0.0M7
    • Planning has begun.  Initial scope is defined on wiki.
    • Apache Jackrabbit –
      • Uses JLibrary, that has BSD licenses
      • Provides remote accessibility via web services
      • Provides offline local caching of repository resources

 

Miscellaneous

  • Can we use Apache Derby’s Eclipse plugin?  Their current plugin is more suited for Workbench.  Corona needs a server-side “bundle” that just provides the runtime.
    • Can we create the “bundle” and contribute to Apache?
