Minutes

  • Plugin Renaming / CVS Cleanup
    • Should be complete.  Request has been submitted for Eclipse webmaster to remove obsolete CVS repository folders.
  • Build Process
    • Updates to build process to adopt Europa are still in progress
    • Features have been updated to use new plugin naming.
    • Client side build process works,  building of server side components still needs to be implemented
    • Need a dedicated build machine.

    • Post messages to corona-dev, corona newsgroup, and ecf-dev
    • All committers should be participating in posting messages to wiki, newsgroup, and mailing lists
    • The Eclipse Foundation is requiring “incubator” projects to have community involvement before it is approved for 1.0 release.
  • IP Approval (IPZilla)
    • The Eclipse Foundation is rolling out new process for IP approval requests.
    • Do NOT commit any 3rd party libraries to our CVS repository until that library has been approved by the EMO!
  • Research Jack Rabbit / Apogee (Glenn/Edyta)
    • The technology looks good.  Apogee (Enterprise Content Management) is planning to use Apache JackRabbit to provide the implementation of JSR 170.
    • Apogee’s creation review includes a knowledge management component.  This could be used for Corona’s semantic framework (knowledge base).
    • Apogee’s code base is not committed to Eclipse CVS yet.  Assume waiting for IP approval.
    • Recommendation – Corona 1.1.0 (June’07) should synch w/ Apogee once it is available within Eclipse.
  • IP Request – Apache Axis (Joel)
    • No progress this past week.

    • Linux distribution?  Not for M4, maybe for M5.
    • Bugzilla issues
  • 1.0.0M5
    • Scheduled build date is end of October
    • Dependent upon Apache libraries
      • Joel has storage on people.apche.org where we could put all of our Apache library where we could 3rd party libraries until they are IP approved by the EMO.
    • Items within Bugzilla have been marked as targeted for 1.0.0M5.  Only these items should be worked on.
      • If there are items that have not been targeted for 1.0.0M5, but should be, post message to corona-dev to discuss it.
    • A consistent exception handling model will be introduced for 1.0.0M5.  This will take into consideration web service fault exceptions.  Initial discussion in corona-dev for design topics, followed by implementation.
