CDT 11.5.0 for Eclipse 2024-03

Hi folks,

I would like to announce a couple of days early that CDT 11.5 is now (mostly) ready. Details below.

The official date of the release is this Wednesday in line with the rest of Eclipse IDE 2024-03. As such, the p2 latest URL and the CDT 11.5 composite are not yet updated.

Fellow CDT committers, as I am on vacation so can someone run the "promote" job https://ci.eclipse.org/cdt/job/promote-files-to-download/ on Wednesday please? This will make the relevant composites up to date and make the install visible to existing installs. See https://github.com/eclipse-cdt/cdt/pull/734 for the files that will be promoted to download.eclipse.org.

CDT 11.5.0 for Eclipse 2024-03 is now released. Please have a look at the New and Noteworthy for the highlights of what is included in this release.

Eclipse IDE Installer

The preferred way to get CDT is to install Eclipse CDT as part of the Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers or Eclipse IDE for Embedded C/C++ Developers using the installer

Eclipse IDE Downloads

Alternatively, download the zip/tar/dmg files from the main Eclipse Downloads site.

p2 site

Install CDT into an existing installation using the following p2 URL: https://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/11.5 or as a cdt-11.5.0.zip

Eclipse Marketplace

The CDT project maintains 3 Marketplace entries:

• The Complete Eclipse C/C++ IDE
• Eclipse C/C++ IDE
• TM Terminal

Standalone Debugger

Any CDT install can be used as the standalone debugger, therefore download/install CDT as best suits you using the above options.
