Re: [cdt-dev] cdt-dev Digest, Vol 141, Issue 6

Hi Jonah,

Thanks for assisting Norm with contributing these memory browser fixes. After speaking to you guys at EclipseCon Europe 2016, we thought we'd try out the process :)

Hi Stephen,

There are currently no plans to have the equivalent of a ConsolePageParticipant, but I would like there to be one :). We are focusing on making the new console experience smooth for users in this last stretch before the release, and are not left with much time to improve things for extenders.

My guess is that it wouldn't be too hard to support, by copying the current support from the platform console for such a ConsolePageParticipant. Your best bet is to submit a patch for this.

As for adding an ID to the context menu, of course we should do that. I'll do my best to find time to do it. Again, the fastest way to get this done is to submit a patch that you know will satisfy your requirement.

Thanks for your interest

Marc

Are there plans to allow page participants with the new console? If not, could doing so be considered?

My ask here is based on a requirement to add pattern matching.

Also, will the context menu be registered with an Id? We have a couple custom menu items that I would like to add.

Thanks,

Hi

Occasionally, people will ask questions on ptp-user that are specific to CDT.

Where should we redirect them, since there is no cdt-user mailing list?

Thanks
John Eblen

There is a pretty active forum for CDT. That?s where a lot of users hang out.

Hi Norman,

Thanks for coming back to the list on these items. I would be pleased to review them. However, they are currently very out of date (they were last updated crica 2011). The patches need be be created as Gerrits against the current CDT master:
https://wiki.eclipse.org/CDT/contributing

Once you have made the gerrits, please add me to the Reviewers list so I can have a look.

Thanks,
Jonah
