Re: [cdt-dev] Windows XP support

Note though that there is a difference between reported in xp and xp related :-(. That makes it really hard to remove all xp only issues.

For sure, we have to be confident enough that this doesn't happen with new version of Windows. Often bug reporters help with that though :)

The arduino eclipse plugin named sloeber dropped xp support as we run the where command in windows to find sh and bash commands as they seem to interfere with make.

As windows dropped support for xp, it seems really reasonable.

Hi,

We've come across a bug that happens only on Windows XP. It made me wonder if we should more officially declare that some environments are not supported anymore. What that would mean is that we would closed/wontfix some of those bugs and if someone wants to step up and fix the issue, we could reopen it.

So, is there any objection to considering Windows XP as "not supported" anymore?

Is there any objection to mark bugs closed/wontfix for platforms considered unsupported unless someone steps up?

Regards,

Marc-Andre
