Re: [cdt-dev] Preprocessor Include versus Paths and Symbols

Hi
A user of the arduino eclipse plugin reported some problems and when investigating it seemed he is running a cdt version that  is not having the Paths and symbols.
Untill now I found all relevant information back in the gui except for: The exclude path.
To be precise in "paths and symbols" on the tab "Source location" you can use the button edit filter to exclude files from the build.
Where can I find that info if the "paths and symbols" is no longer available?
Best regards
Jantje

Yes I get your point Sergey. However some users are using this page today - in part because its usability is better.

A better UI is useless if the page doesn't contain relevant information, isn't it?

Hi Alena,
I actually agree with you that Paths and Symbols page tabs have better UI. That is part of my reservation about removing it. As far as a name of the page, could you suggest a better one? It appears that it is particularly hard to come up with a name for this thing. I made a call to the mailing list in the past but nobody came with a decent one or any objections against the one selected.

Thanks,
Andrew

My 2c. "Preprocessor Include Paths, Macros, etc" has a horrible name which does not fit in the preference page UI and the UI of it
is not usable by average user who has no idea about concept of "provider" and does not need to know it. Paths and Symbols page
at least had UI which was intuitive for most people (name of the page was bad too).
If we merging them please let us review the resulting UI before pushing it.

From and end user`s POV: Yes, irrelevant information tabs are confusing.
