Actually, while the export is now successful, trying to install the resulting zip into a CDT installation fails with:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: C/C++ GNU Toolchain Build Support 8.8.0.201511262133 (org.eclipse.cdt.gnu.build.feature.group 8.8.0.201511262133)
Missing requirement: GCC support for CDT Build Core 1.0.0.201511262133 (org.eclipse.cdt.build.gcc.core 1.0.0.201511262133) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.launchbar.core 2.0.0' but it could not be found
Cannot satisfy dependency:

To: org.eclipse.cdt.build.gcc.core [1.0.0.201511262133]
I tried installing the Launch Bar feature from the Mars p2 repo, but that didn't help. Any advice is appreciated.
