I remember having to play around with escaping characters a little while back.  I wonder if what you are seeing could be a side effect.

we've just tested the last release RC4a and still have problems with breakpoints at Windows and Generic GDB 7.4.1, see:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=442364

The same workspace and launch configurations are working with last Kepler release. May be it's just a compatibility issue between new CDT 8.5 and used GDB version at Windows. Any ideas?
