Re: [cdt-dev] 8.5 release

As an adopter, we take a branch build when we go to do a release. There's always a fix or two we need after any SR so they're never ideal. If the branch goes wonky, we fork and ship a local build. (the beauty of maven). But lately the branches have been pretty stable.

We could do the same for the SR's. Just ship builds off the branch. I just don't think it makes sense to sink a lot of our precious resources into them.

Doug.

Ok, but do we really want to drop one or two SR builds to replace them with a non-aligned December build?

For adopters/packagers, it may not be ideal.  In our case, we package CDT with other projects into our own
package and we align our releases with the Eclipse releases.  My guess is that many do the same.
A December release would not fit in that schedule and may not prove very useful.

What is the release schedule for Momentics?

Well, I'll challenge the notion that we have to deliver anything on the SRs. There's no requirement for that.
