We reall‎y need 6 months to do features correctly. We should be able to release the c++ ide when we want. In that case, how about waiting until 8.6 to go public with it?
I agree that you didn't have much time in this cycle.
Removing it from the org.eclipse.cdt.repo/category.xml would probably be sufficient.
