I've had it happen numerous times that adding an include in User
Settings in the Preprocessor Macros etc. page is not picked up by
the indexer, but enabling the MBS provider and adding the include
under Paths and Symbols, is. I've been trying to reproduce this
behaviour in a small project, with no success thus far.

Could this be related to https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=413357?
