I was trying to come up with best API I am able to. In the process, to much of my surprise, incompatible API got reduced to none. Thanks for noting, Sergey.

As far as product release numbering in general, normally it is product/marketing decision and does not have to match plugins versions. I leave it to Doug provided he does not downgrade the version number.
