Hello,

when I tried to figure out how I can rename an Eclipse project during the import I found this bug report: Bug 40493: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=40493.

There was a lot of discussion and different opinions about that, but the status is still NEW ... since 2003.

From my opinion I totally agree that the requested function can be a benefit for a lot of users. For example in my case I just want to give a project to a collegue to show him something. He doesn't want to start a now workspace and he doesn't want to overwrite the older version of the project already existing in his current workspace. So importing the project and giving it a new name would be the easiest way to do this ... but it still doesn't seem to be possible.

Sure, I agree that we can survive without this function... but wouldn't it be easier if we have it? In the end we all are using  tools to save time and make the workflow easier!

So what do you think, shouldn't this feature be implemented?

Sure. Sounds like a good feature. But it's a feature of the Eclipse Platform, not the CDT.
