Re: [cdt-dev] strange outline view behaviour

I tried it on Windows 7.  Please file a bug and attach a sample project.

Thanks,

Toni

What operating system did you try it on? I have a RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.6.

I prepared a clean platform + CDT 8.0. I don’t see the effect noted under 4) (this could be the 3rd party contribution, i.e. the XML editor), but still the outline view collapses the upper namespace when switching to another editor and then switching back. The “Link with Editor” feature of the outline view doesn’t seem to work when I’m selecting nodes in the upper namespace. I need to expand the namespace manually before it functions again.

Hi Jens,

this seems to work for me.

Maybe there is some interaction with a 3rd party plugin, e.g. Mylyn?

Subject: [cdt-dev] strange outline view behaviour

Hi all,

I’m using CDT 8.0 and see strange effects in the outline view:

1)     In one editor I have two namespace nodes, both expanded

2)     Switch to another editor.

3)     Switch back to the first editor. The upper namespace node is collapsed about 1s after the editor switched back.

4)     Now click an element in the outline view. The first namespace is expanded again. But the selected element is not the one I clicked. Instead it’s the one that is exactly the number of children of the upper namespace node above.

Even weirder, while 1) to 3) seem to happen all the time, 4) does only happen when I open an XML editor in between.

Does that trigger something? Anyone working in that area?

Jens.
