I am also not familiar with the code around CElementDeltas, however the approaches you suggest in bug 343538 both make sense to me.

Hello altogether,

 

I have come across a bug that the index is not updated properly when a folder is deleted via the project explorer (or any other folder deletion triggering action). Deleting the files directly is not a problem.

I have already filed an issue and I am working on a patch. But I could need some help with some classes in order to provide a proper patch.
