[cdt-dev] hiding excluded files

I’m using 3.52. with CDT 6.0.0.  It used to be, that when you excluded a file or directory from the Build it would not be displayed in the project explorer.  This seems to be no longer the case.  Is there a option of a plugin that would give me this feature,   Or even some clues on how to implement this my self?
