Re: [cdt-dev] Git plans?

I'd like to hear from the rest of the community, but you kind-a said it all for me.

Is EGit ready for prime time? or should we wait for 1.0? Which would push us to after Indigo (the name of the next train, BTW).

Now that Helios is out of the door, what are the thoughts with regards to migrating to Git?

The EGit plugin was released recently, and whilst it shows promise in a number of ways, general case merging is still lacking. There is a plan to have that in September or so with EGit 0.9.x that should have that functionality.

It can be used in conjunction with the command line git tools though. However, merge conflicts may not be handled properly in the EGit plugin, which is probably one of the more important use cases.
