In the past I've had difficulty tracking down where a fix has gone in.
It's near impossible when there hasn't been a patch posted to the
bug.
It seems committers are being good about attaching patches. However it
is a useful fail-safe, especially if the output can be tidied up to
look like John's suggestion.
