Re: [cdt-dev] Vote for Committer status for L. Frank Turovich has started

Additionally, history with a potential nominee can be a factor, though it's not a primary consideration. In other words, someone who has committed X number of patches and has worked closely with other committers in other capacities/roles (past or present) is more likely to be nominated than someone who has committed X number of patches but is otherwise an unknown to the committers. The history provides additional confidence in their abilities, beyond the patches. However, no one would ever be nominated (or approved) solely on such history, and conversely, such history is by no means a requirement.

There is also the trust that the candidate will be around for a few years. It's easier if they are getting paid to work on CDT. But that could also be open for debate.

At any rate, whoever is applying your patches needs to be the one to do the nomination, if one is to take place.

Does anyone trust me yet? ;)

There is no minimum requirement. All that is required is to show that you do good work with a sample of patches, enough to earn the trust of the other committers.

Alena,

I didn't recall that requirement, but Frank has well over ten, I only
included a few patches in the nomination. You can find the rest in bugzilla,
here is a link to the issues Frank has been involved in:
