I just tested it on Mac.
I had opened two Mac bugs:
1. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=283906
Is *not* fixed - some file dialogs *still* do not expose all the content of "Macintosh Hard Disk" (e.g. I can't select /usr to find e.g. /usr/include for an include path)
Altho some things like File -> Open FIle *do* work.
In CDT do we use a different Platform API for the File Dialog or something?
If so then CDT should do the same change that the platform did??

*IS* fixed - the symbolic link to the executable was not included in the original Galileo CPP build - but is now
After untarring it I now see this in the eclipse directory, which wasn't there before:
lrwxr-xr-x 1 beth admin 34 Sep 21 10:09 eclipse -> Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse
