If you are the assignee, then you can move it to Future. Only a real person can commit to something being fixed at any point, even in the Future. Inboxes don't write code (oh how we wish they could!), so they can't make such committments :-)

Otherwise, if it's valid but no one has committed to work on it/apply the patch, then leave it on the inbox and mark it as assigned, but leave the target milestone as "---". If it's appropriate, put something in the comments saying you can't commit the patch right now because it requires API changes or whatever the reason is.

I don't see a reason why we couldn't add a CDT 7 target, unless someone is going to argue that there's going to be a CDT 6.1 first. If no one objects, I'll add the target.

There are a bunch I know about that aren't really suittable for this
stage of cdt 6. If we want to target something post 6 should we set
the target to 'Future' and mark as assigned? Given we've reached RC
status on CDT 6, is it worth adding a CDT 7 target yet?
