RAP replaces the SWT component, so in theory you shouldn't need to do
any code changes. But I'm not sure that there aren't limitations that
may cause problems at runtime.
You should also check out http://bespin.mozilla.com (or .org) as a
JavaScript IDE in browser. Plus, a bespin back-end for E4 was demod -
Eclipse wiki has a page on E4/Bespin

well, I am not in the RAP team, but personally I wouldn't want to
run JDT,
CDT, or similar complex IDEs as a RAP application.
At the moment. ;-)
But ten years ago I didn't think that I would ever run a complete
IDE in a
JRE...
On the other hand there might be some interesting usecases for CDT
and RAP
in
the future, usecases that will be possible with such a solution. But
currently it is not possible to port such applications because of the
missing
StyledText in RAP.
