I think the decision regarding the next CDT version and the issue Make raised are orthogonal. Whatever the next version is going to be, it's definitely not 5.0. Lets consider 5.1 to be a provisional label for the next version. If we decide to change it later, it can be done by a simple text replace.

Should it be API? Some things I'm sure yes, others no. But the act of just moving something from public to internal is considered an API change regardless of whether you originally intended it to be API or not.

I really need to be convinced to call it anything other than 5.1. But we can change the version numbers anytime during a release cycle, and more than once if we have to.

But, as Mike says, I don't think we have a decision yet on whether the next release will be 5.1 or 6.0... so I don't think changing it to 5.1 is prudent at this time, especially when these errors don't hinder the build.

Changing the version number of the plugin to 5.1 should fix this error.
