RE: [cdt-dev] Problems after installing CDT through P2

Hm... Thanks for the hint... TM 3.0RC3 was also built against
Platform much-older (M7 if I'm not mistaken), I cannot quite
see why that should be an issue, but I'll try it out.

Cheers,

Hi Martin,
I think the CDT RC3 build (20080530) was built against platform RC2, that's why all the errors.  Try installing one of the later nighly builds (e.g. 06/02) instead.

Cheers,
Pawel

Hi CDT gang,

I'm running into an issue here that's driving me crazy, and I'm wondering
whether I have been messing up things, or CDT is broken, or P2 is broken.
Here's what I'm trying to do on my Linux-GTK-x86 RHEL4u2 system:

1. tar xfvz eclipse-platform-3.4RC3-linux-gtk.tar.gz
2. Launch, Help > Software Updates... Add Site... CDT archived site
    cdt-master-5.0.0.I200805300802.zip
3. Install "CDT Tooling" feature
4. Restart
5. >From a local copy of the Target Management site
try to install any RSE feature e.g. RSE-SDK or whatever.

The problem is, that whatever I try to install, checking dependencies fails
with this message:

Cannot complete the request.  See the details.
Cannot find a solution satisfying the following requirements Match[requiredCapability: org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu/org.eclipse.cdt.core.linux.x86/[5.0.0.200805160801,5.0.0.200805160801]].
Now that referenced version (200805160801) doesn't exist anywere in
my installations. I probably installed it eaerlier (I'm instalilng a lot).
Could P2 have put that into some shared configuration area that I
have messed up with earlier installs? I'm totally lost at the moment
and any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
