[cdt-dev] porting microsoft visual studio 2005 c++ project to eclipse CD

Hi all, 

I'm an old java programmer with eclipse, but have only used eclipse to
create new C++ projects, 
I am now trying to move a microsoft C++ project into eclipse, 
but i cannot get eclipse to even start compiling it. 

can anyone please advise on how to set it up correctly, and where i get
the settings from visual studio.
