Re: [cdt-dev] Warning: Eclipse 3.4M6 fails on standaloneUpdate

I just ran across that dropins folder problem. ;)

I thought, it was ok to 'drop' an plugin, never mind if its an compressed update site or just a plain plugin. As I'm on Windows, Eclipse IU feature replied lots of errors about the os-x, linux, ... platforms that are included in the CDT master zip. I get some errors in the .log. And I'm not sure why, but I also got an ArrayOutOfBound exceptions from the IU.

So maybe you guys should state on the download site, not to throw the master zip into the dropins folder, but add it as archived site, and install it properly.

Regards,
Henning

Hi Buildmeisters,
not sure if anyone else of you folks needs org.eclipse.core.standaloneUpdate in order to populate the target platform against which you're building your
stuff; I do, because the CDT only comes as (compressed) update site,
so there is no way around it.
Eclipse 3.4M6 with P2 enabled compeltely FAILS on standaloneUpdate.
See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=225537 for details.
A workaround is included on the bug (get rid of P2).
Cheers,
