Thread-topic: cygwin toolchain unsupported?

With my sample projects that I use to test CDT I am now seeing the following message

when attempting to build them:

**** WARNING: The "Debug" Configuration may not build ****

**** because it uses the "Cygwin GCC" ****

**** tool-chain that is unsupported on this system. ****

Why is this the case, what can I do to make this work again?
