[cdt-dev] 4.0 Plan updated for MinGW integration

Hey gang,

 

If you’ve been following my blog (cdtdoug.blogspot.com), you will see that I am planning on building a nice MinGW integration that will allow us to distribute a version of Eclipse and the CDT that will include everything you need to build and debug Windows applications, including the compiler, libraries, and debugger. Since these are all GPL or LGPL, we can not distribute them from Eclipse.org. Instead, the gang at EasyEclipse has expressed interest in distributing it and I will be working with them to put together the install.

 

I have added a Plan item for CDT 4.0 since I will be developing new plug-ins to support this. As well, I will be moving our existing gcc integration with managed build into a separate feature. That integration is really targeted at cygwin so will probably name it as such. There are a few other things I need to dance around, but if you have any comments, please add them to:
