[cdt-dev] API for accessing PDOM - conference call

Hi,
I have created quite a patch that introduces an API for accessing the
index. I have also ported existing clients to use the API. In the
future no other access to the PDOM shall be supported. Certainly the
API is not complete, the first goal is to get clients off using the
PDOM directly.

Before I commit the code I want to make a conference call with everybody
who is interested to
  - explain how the API works.
  - discuss the API to find out what I need to change.
