Hi Chris,
Regarding your first
question: currently there are no plans to do any modifications in the area you
are mentioning, note however that the New CDT Project Model that is planned to
be done for the CDT 4.0 implies merging the Managed and Standard Build stuff
into one CDT Build System, so in that sense there might be changes in all parts
of the Managed Build plug-ins, e.g. the MBS and Standard make functionality
might be grouped under one common set of plug-ins.

Subject: [cdt-dev] Managed
Build/License query.
1. I've been looking at modifying the managed builder plugin
to so that the command-lines for tools (derived from settings modifiable via
check boxes and the like) echoed in the C/C++ build properties pane can
be edited and the meaning of any created command line reflected in the
relevant settings. Are there any major changes planned for this area of
the plugin in the near future, because it would make more sense to wait until
after any such modifications before implementing this feature.
2. In the creation of such a modification it
would be useful to use a CLI parser tool/library provided by the
Apache Foundation, how compatible is the Apache 1.1 License under which the
tool is licensed with the EPL and any further licenses favoured in the CDT
community? The Eclipse Foundation Software User
Agreement appears to indicate that "Plug-ins" may refer to this
license, but whether the CDT community considers this appropriate or not I
haven't been able to discern.
