Tensilica is shipping "Xtensa Xplorer", and the C/C++ IDE
portion is CDT/GDB based. Indeed, we just released a new version for our Diamond
Standard processors last week (based on Eclipse 3.1.1, CDT 3.0.1). And as a
"plug for Doug": this version enables the indexer by default, and we actively
configure it from our own build engine so it is seamless and easy; very
cool.
The downloads are really impressive, but It would
be even more interesting to know the total number of users -
commercial + "raw" though i suspect those numbers would not be easy to wheedle
out of companies.
At the moment, the nature of eclipse that shines through
our ide still gets a response from many customers "oh, thats different, but i
guess ok". I am expecting that over this year that the response will gradually
morph into "oh cool, i already know how to work that". Then we will have a
different set of things to respond to - like why don't you use the MBS
;)
THANKS !!

Hey
gang,
One of the themes I want to
promote in my EclipseCon presentation is the health of the CDT community which
is partly illustrated by the growing list of companies that ship the CDT in
commercial products. I’ll also be presenting my cool download stats to show
the huge adoption we’re getting in the open source world (68,000 downloads in
Jan!).
I can take a guess from who’s
raising bugs and committing code and looking at web sites to find who’s
shipping the CDT in their products. But I want to make sure I get it correct
by asking the people on the list. You can respond to me directly if you’d
wish.
Thanks,
Doug
