[cdt-dev] CDT extension questions

Hi,

I am working with a company, trying to extend CDT to use a set of in-house 
C/C++ tools. I tried modifying CDT source code to integrate with our tools, 
it has worked out ok. But I am wondering if a new set of plugins better than 
directly hacking CDT source code? Is it easy to extend CDT to use our C/C++ 
tools? If I want to create a set of plugins, where should I start?
