Re: [cdt-dev] Source Folders for CDT projects?

Thanks, Alain, I remember seeing this. I guess I'll have a better feel for it once I see the UI and user workflows (the code looks good, though :-)

You can try it out by removing the comments from the plugin.xml.... but not all is functional yet but will soon be (hopefully...). Mainly the include/symbol stuff is still WIP....

The question I have is - can we use this source folder implementation to cut down on the files the indexer should look at?

Sure, in fact since we took the indexer from jdt I bet some of the methods to index a project/folder match well to what the path entry provide in the way of handling exclusions too. (I have seen some exclusion testing in our indexer code not to long ago.....) Also the binary parser already uses this info as it will reduce its searching based on output folder paths.

Guys, as we discussed at the last conference call, I'm putting together
a
table to summarize our feature/plan item status as we near the M9 milestone.

Alain, can you give me the PR number for this plan item that you mention

below?

Docs, via webcvs:
http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/~checkout~/cdt-core-home/docs/qnx/cpathentry.html?rev=1.11&content-type=text/html&cvsroot=Tools_Project

plugin:
cdt-core-home/docs/qnx/cpathentry.html

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=47465
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=47229

 Pr's:
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=53210
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=43061
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=52616

Maybe some other related PRs, owned by others, could be address by this item.
