Re: [cdt-dev] Bugzilla voting request

Each registered bugzilla user gets ten votes in the CDT category. A bug can be voted for by clicking the "Vote for this bug" link on its bugzilla web page. For example, you can vote for Emacs-like TAB-key handling by going to:

  http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=5179

Click "Vote on this bug" above the comments field. This takes you to a list of all your current votes, and gives you the chance of adding your vote for 5179 as well.

If you want to see a list of the most popular bugs / feature requests (be warned that this is a bit awkward), go to the Bugzilla query page:

  http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/query.cgi

Fill in "2" in the field marked "Only bugs with at least: ___ votes". Click Search.

In the search results page, click "Change columns". Check the "votes" field. Click "Submit".

Now your results page has a "Votes" column. Click on its header to sort the bug list by the number of votes.

A discussion about voting can be found at:

  http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=12115

Bugzilla's own description of its voting feature can be found at:

  http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/votehelp.html

Cheers //Johan (CDT voter wannabe :-)

Sounds like a good idea. Is there a summary of how it works?

Subject: [cdt-dev] Bugzilla voting request

PR 32583

Asking for voting to be turn on for CDT bugzilla.
I believe, it needs the PMC approval and probably the commiters, according
to the eclipse.org ways.

I've reassign the PR to the grand pooba.

Comments?
